In future concrete walls will be transparent. Thanks to the virtually loss-free conduction of light through optical fibers, light, shadows or even colors and pictures can be seen through the concrete – even in very thick walls.
LUCCON is made from high-strength concrete and light-conducting fabric in a special process involving prefabricated moulds. Since the proportion of synthetic fibers is relatively low, translucent concrete has the same strength and durability as conventional concrete.
Our translucent concrete comes in 90 cm x 30 cm slabs with a thickness of 25 mm – 100 mm. Both slab surfaces are polished and have protective coating.
